One of the greatest problems that the world is facing today is that of environmental pollution, increasing with every passing year and causing grave and irreparable damage to the earth. Environmental pollution consists of three basic types of pollution, namely, air,water,soil. 

 

요즘 세상이 직면하는 가장 큰 문제중 하나는 매년 시간이 지날수록 회복될 수 없을 정도의 피해를 지구가 입는 환경공해이다.  

환경공해의 대표적인 항목 3가지로는 대기, 수질, 토양 이 있다. 

 

Air pollution is by far the most harmful form of pollution in our environment. Air pollution is cause by the injurious smoke emitted by cars, buses, trucks, trains, and factories, namely sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. Even smoke from burning leaves and cigarettes are harmful to the environment causing a lot of damage to man and the atmosphere. Evidence of increasing air pollution is seen in lung cancer, asthma, allergies, and various breathing problems along with severe and irreparable damage to flora and fauna.  

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC), released from refrigerators, air-conditioners, deodorants and insect repellents cause severe damage to the Earth’s environment. This gas has slowly damaged the atmosphere and depleted the ozone layer leading to global warming.

 

대기오염은 환경 공해 중 가장 위험하다고 할 수 있다. 대기오염은 자가용, 버스, 트럭, 공장에서 배출되는 발암물질이 포함된 매연으로 인하여 발생한다. 심지어 나뭇잎을 태우거나 담배를 필 때 나는 연기 또한 환경의 일부인 사람과 공기에 큰 피해를 입힌다. 대기오염의 정도가 증가하는것의 증거로 폐암, 천식, 알러지, 그리고 다양한 호흡기 질환을 통해 알 수 있다. CFC, 냉장고와 에어컨에서 나오는 가스등은 지구환경에 심각한 피해를 준다. 이 가스들은 대기에 천천히 피해를 입혀 오존층의 두께를 두껍게 하여 지구오난화를 유발하기도 한다. 

 

 

 

Water pollution caused industrial waste products released into lakes, rivers, and other water bodies, has made marine life no longer hospitable. Humans pollute water with large scale disposal of garbage, flowers, ashes and other household waste. In many rural areas one can still find people bathing and cooking in the same water, making it incredibly filthy. Acid rain further adds to water pollution in the water. In addition to these, thermal pollution and the depletion of dissolved oxygen aggravate the already worsened condition of the water bodies. Water pollution can also indirectly occur as an offshoot of soil pollution – through surface runoff and leaching to groundwater. 

 

수질오염은 호수, 강 등 수공간등으로 흘러들어간 산업폐수로 인하여 발생하고 더이상 수공간을 쾌적하지 못하게 한다. 

사람들은 엄청난 량의 쓰래기, 꽃, 재 등과 가정폐수로 물을 오염시켯다. 아직 많은 변두리 지여게서는 세면과 음식을 같은 물로 하기 때문에 엄청나게 더럽다. 산성비 또한 수질오염의 주 원인이다. 이에 더불어 열적 오염과 물 속의 산소의 감소는 수자원에 이미 크게 나빠진 상태를 더욱 악화시킨다. 물은 간접적으로 토양오염에 영향을 끼치는데, 그 이유로는 오염된 지하수의 토양 유입이다.

 

Soil pollution, which can also be called soil contamination, is a result of acid rain, polluted water, fertilizers etc., which leads to bad crops. Soil contamination occurs when chemicals are released by spill or underground storage tank leakage which releases heavy contaminants into the soil. These may include hydrocarbons, heavy metals, MTBE, herbicides, pesticides and chlorinated hydrocarbons.  

 

토양오염은 산성비, 오염된 물, 비료 등등으로 인해 발생하는데 이것은 나쁜 작물을 생성한다. 토양오염은 쏟아지거나 지하에 화학물질을 저장해 놓은 저장고의 누수로 인해 발생된다. 이 화학물질은 탄화수소, 중금속, MTBE, 제초제, 살충제 그리고 염소화 탄화수소를 포함한다.
